  1. Hockey is one of the toughest sports in the world and it requires a great amount of determination and focus to make it to the top level. Theo Fleury was able to fight through his traumatic childhood to become one of the best NHL players that the league has ever seen. This novel tells the readers how Theo’s life has changed since the book was published and how he was able to overcome all the problems that he faced throughout his hockey career. The book also outlines his experience with sex, drugs and abuse throughout his life. Fleury’s central argument throughout the book tells his audience that with hard work and thirst for success, you can achieve anything you want. He tells his readers that you cannot let anything stand between you and your dreams. Theo writes this book not only change the hockey world, but also inform his readers about his abuse and the aftermath, which put him through hell and back. Throughout the story Theo is very bias towards himself because it is basically a biography about his life.
    The author’s main arguments in this novel are extremely captivating and truthful which pulls the readers into the novel and makes them feel like they are part of the story. Theo is able to keep his audience interested throughout the whole book using his completely honest stories about what he encountered in his life and how he was able to deal with them. Fleury’s contentions were very well explained and gets into the little details, which excites the reader and gives you goose bumps as you read the most extreme moments in his journey through life.
    Playing With Fire is one of the most truthful and honest books ever written. Theo Fleury was not afraid to leave his comfort zone to tell the world what he had to gone through, from his tragic childhood to his sex and drug filled NHL career, Theo informs the world about his life in extreme detail. The book’s major strength is its ability to capture the reader and keep them entertained throughout the whole novel. Every part of the book is intense, hilarious or wild. Fleury has made his book a huge success by staying true to himself and telling an extremely unique life story.
    There are a few drawbacks throughout the novel. If you are not a true hockey player you may find that the language is a bit harsh for some readers. Some of the language could have been cleaned up, although this helped Fleury convey his honest stories and messages throughout the book.
    After publishing Playing with Fire, Theo has not only dramatically changed the hockey world, but has also made an immense difference in peoples lives who have been through the same issues as him. This novel motivates the readers to not let anything stand in the way of their dreams. If you are looking for a book written with complete honesty and emotion, this has it all.
